ExpeRA is usually integrated into the billing process right after the billing run ends and before sending the bills to the customers. In the diagram below described a typical Billing process integrated with the ExpeRA’s process.
It is possible to divide the billing audit process to several sub processes that will be integrated in different stages in the overall billing process. Some of the verification stages can be done before the billing run ends.
In addition, it is possible to apply pre-billing test invoices or CDRs to ExpeRA in order to verify rating and billing before production cycles start
ExpeRA work process is composed of 3 stages:
The first stage is the batch process where ExpeRA activates the auditing rules on all invoices in the cut/run, resulting with the detection of discrepancies throughout the cut.
The second stage is the Auditing phase where the auditor analyzes the detected discrepancies. The third stage is the finding/tracking phase where the results (of the auditors’ analysis) are forwarded to the relevant personnel.
1st Step: Batch Run activation & monitoring
The system administrator is in charge of monitoring & controlling the batch process.
The completion of the batch process results in the detection of errors within the invoices. All discrepancies detected are stored within the ExpeRA data base for the use of the auditors (2
nd Step).
2nd Step: The Auditing phase
The auditors' goal is to detect errors and handle them. ExpeRA detects the errors thus enabling the auditors to view, validate and analyze the problems rather than search for them. The errors are highlighted on an invoice-like screen in 3-level color coding. ExpeRA enables the auditors to trace the source of an error, by
drilling-down into the rules representing the knowledge. This unique feature enables to shorten the time of trouble shooting and fixing the errors.
3rd Step: Tracking/Finding
After the auditors complete their investigations they report their findings by creating notes/reports. All findings are transferred to the RA manager for further treatment.
